Artist Statement 2023.
I rarely
use brown or black in my work.
they
are great colors.
but
I’ve just been craving
fresh
fresh fresh light
bright vibrant
accessing
an, energetic and welcoming and
childlike playfulness when
I use
primary, elementary colors.
I want
them to be their own protagonists,
they have such a big presence
and they
have the power to change
the
world in a room and a room in the world.
I want brightness and
happy
color moments
activations combinations.
and darker duller colors
dont scream
“play!”
but
when they play
alongside really vibrant ones,
they shine
brighter
when they conversate together
like friends.
strong individuals.
I let moments life instances

thoughts, wounds, the humanness of existing
Let it all
enter my paintings.
my everyday is the prompt and then I can let it become
Something else if it wants to be.
and I can let paint be paint.
the humanness of
existing
and being
conscious
and
the things that
linger and that leave marks
I want to let make
their
way into my work.
My paintings reflect what I think and feel
Intense color as well as
what goes on
in my head, inspires me
to
be bold,
but I am also drawn to
softness and the
delicacy of tired eyes.
